Tips to make life a little bit easier and more interesting
How to clean
wallpaper
It is just more economical to clean
wallpaper in your home than it is to replace it. In these trying
times we all need to try to save as much money as we can. So, here
is a simple way to wash your papered walls.
Things you'll need:
Baking soda, flour, ammonia, water. |
| |
|
|
1. |
Mix 2
cups of flour with 4 tablespoons of
baking soda.
|
|
2. |
Then,
mix 1 1/4 cups of water with 2 1/2
tablespoons of ammonia.
|
|
3. |
Combine the two mixes and beat until the mixture is nice and
smooth. |
|
4. |
Put the mixture on top of a double boiler. Cover and set
over lower pan with boiling water. Let this "cook" on very
low heat for 1 1/2 hours. |
|
5. |
Uncover, remove from heat, and let cool until it is room
temperature. |
|
6. |
Pour the mixture onto a table covered with wax paper and
knead it until you have a dough type consistancy. |
|
7. |
Take a small portion of the dough and start at the top of
the wall. Roll it down, kneading it along the way, to remove
the soil from the wall. |
|
8. |
When the dough starts to get soiled you can fold the dirty
part in on itself and have clean dough. Once it is
completely soiled, get a new piece. Continue like this until
your whole wall is cleaned. |
