Alzheimer’s South Africa

This association is South
Africa’s leader in the fields of Alzheimer’s and dementia,
providing support, education, training and up-to-date,
scientifically-sound information on matters pertaining to all forms
of dementia.
Dementia is a progressive degenerative brain syndrome that affects
memory, thinking, behaviour and emotion. Alzheimer’s disease is the
most common cause of dementia. Declining memory, especially
short-term memory, is the most common early symptom of dementia.
Other symptoms include difficulty performing familiar tasks,
disorientation to time and place, poor or decreased judgment and
changes in personality.

Informing, encouraging and supporting all people who have
diabetes and their families.
Acting as an advocate for people with diabetes, lobbying for
better facilities, cheaper medication and better services.
Promoting public awareness of diabetes, its symptoms and risks.

Muscular Dystrophy Foundation of SA

Muscular Dystrophy
is the name given to a group of more than 70 neuromuscular
disorders, resulting in progressive wasting and weakness of the
muscle.

South African Depression &
Anxiety Group
The
South African Depression and Anxiety Group (SADAG) is a Non
Profit organisation that started 12 years ago. SADAG operates
a Mental Health call centre dealing with mental health issues
such as depression, anxiety and bipolar, it also has the only
suicide crisis line in South Africa. The call centre operates
from 8am to
8pm, 7 days a week, 365 days of the year.
